The message of these kids ...Um, I'm kinda confused. The message of these kids seems to differ from the message of your book. I don't remember the exact pages (I read the book right when it came out) but I remember you saying that being Chareidi is not related to your kippa or whether or not you wear t'cheiles. It means accepting the values listed on page 217. Now suddenly, you are promoting (and saying this was the intent of the book all along) the definiton of chareidi alluded to when you say "there's chareidi and there's chareidi" or the definition used by your bekeshe laden friend on page 218. The guys at mekaz ha'rav are chareidi according to your definition but not according to the definition of the second definition.
I'm confused.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7186734097245460670.post-86199996928125229082008-10-26T20:19:00.000+02:002008-10-26T20:19:00.000+02:00feels more like a ouija board to me...feels more like a ouija board to me...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7186734097245460670.post-52566864365600603552008-10-26T19:56:00.000+02:002008-10-26T19:56:00.000+02:00To Anonymous:however in certain areas, like women ...To Anonymous:
however in certain areas, like women wearing mostly hats instead of wigs, according to what they say, the religious zionist camp is more in tune with the will of Hashem than many of the charedim.

Take a look again, many of the hats that are worn by the women in the dati lumi camp, do not cover all their hair. A hair covering other than a wig, such as a scarf, is for sure a midat chasidus, but first start with the basic halacha. I mean, first start covering all of your hair, then you can start talking about if a wig is right or not. ( I know that their is an opinion that a woman can show a tefach, but I doubt that the pasak was that a tefach of erva is better than a wig. Also see what the Mishna Berura says ).

And in reference to the main article, doesn't this feel like torah codes ?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7186734097245460670.post-4164399171391975742008-10-26T01:18:00.000+02:002008-10-26T01:18:00.000+02:00>> Is anybody else struck by the fact that a...>> Is anybody else struck by the fact that autistic guys in a completely Jerusalem chareidi environment have confirmed every single standard position of the Jerusalem chareidi world and simply given those positions a mystical, Shabbetian medium?

The interesting anomoly is that Galia and her mother, Shulamit Gad, were totally secular. It was only after and because of the FC whereupon Galia started "preaching" religious (chareidi?) rhetoric with no background whatsoever that her mother became religious. The mother wrote a book called "Messages From Heaven" (available on Amazon) and she gave a well known speech in Hebrew. The speech is available in segments on You-Tube (http://www.youtube.com/user/ShulamitGad) and I believe you can download it with English subtitles from a site called www.tora1.com.

Incidentally, Ben Golden and his family are originally from Boston, Mass.
